Our journey begins at the Borjgalo Ethnographic Museum, a unique place where the history, culture, and traditions of Adjara come to life. Through handcrafted exhibits, scenes of traditional daily life, and examples of local craftsmanship, visitors gain insight into the region’s centuries-old heritage and way of life. We then continue to the confluence of the Chorokhi and Acharistskali Rivers, where nature creates a remarkable spectacle. The differently colored rivers merge, forming a unique landscape that is considered one of Adjara’s most distinctive natural attractions. Next, we visit Makhuntseti Waterfall, one of the most famous and impressive natural landmarks in Adjara. Cascading from a height of nearly 30 meters, the waterfall creates a stunning setting. During the summer months, visitors can relax by the natural pool at its base and enjoy the refreshing atmosphere. Just a few minutes away stands the Queen Tamar Bridge, an outstanding example of medieval Georgian architecture. This stone arch bridge has served travelers for centuries and continues to preserve its authentic character. The next part of the tour is dedicated to wine culture. We will visit a family-owned winery located in a picturesque setting surrounded by mountains and vineyards. Here, you will learn about the traditions of Adjarian winemaking, the centuries-old qvevri wine-making method, and the characteristics of local grape varieties such as Tsolikouri, Chkhaveri, and Tsaturi. Guests will have the opportunity to taste several varieties of local wine and chacha while enjoying the breathtaking views of Mountainous Adjara. The highlight of the day is a traditional Georgian feast. Guided by a tamada (toastmaster), you will discover the art of Georgian toasts, local traditions, and the culture of hospitality, one of Georgia’s most treasured values.
